From the day I got the e-mail from Stu announcing the fortieth, the memories have come flooding back. What a wonderful town to grow up in and what a wonderful experience RHS was. Stories? How would it be possible to pick just one?
My fondest memories center on two things; the incredibly beautiful women that graced our class (yes, at one time or another I had a serious crush on each and every one of you) and the unifying experience that the sports events were. Who can forget the spectacle of the basketball games? Block R, the band, the cheerleaders and the CROWDS! Remember the thunderous eruption from the stands as our guys took the court?
How many of you recall what I consider to be the greatest basketball shot I ever saw before or since? Paul Flately had the ball deep in a corner. He was being closely guarded and a pass was impossible. Just as he was forced out of bounds, he put up the shot (the geometry meant that he was actually somewhat BEHIND the backboard) and ripped it...nothing but net! That wasnt just luck, folks.
My sincere thanks to John Sweet for taking on the responsibility for this site. We all appreciate it, John.
Im anxious to know what everyone looks like these days. If you have a recent picture, please get it to John...inquiring minds want to know!
